1947 Ronnie Montrose 2012

March 30th, 2012 by

The process of building a custom guitar is very involved and personal – for both artist and luthier. Many times the product of this collaboration is not only a great instrument, but also a great friendship. Such was the case with my collaboration with Ronnie Montrose. Throughout my friendship with Ronnie I never saw a hint of “Rock Star Ego” or pretense. Ronnie was the most down to earth, sincere, genuine person you could ever know. With the heart of an artist and the mind of an engineer, Ronnie lived his life with a passion few of us will ever feel.

Ronnie Montrose was an incredibly gifted musician, a gourmet cook, an avid fisherman, a loving husband and father, and a great friend.  I miss him dearly.
