Guitar Player Magazine Editor in Chief Michael Molenda reviewed a Brock Acoustics Dreadnought model for the January issue. Mr. Molenda also chose the Brock Dreadnought as the Editors’ Pick for the issue. Check out the review HERE.
I recently completed a six string banjo commissioned by guitarist Ronnie Montrose . Ronnie (who can play anything with strings on it) couldn’t find an “off the shelf” banjo with the particular specs he wanted, so he asked if I could build one for him. I built this banjo with a 1 ⅞” wide neck at the nut, and with the neck profile Ronnie prefers. I used presentation grade curly maple for the neck and built the resonator with a veneer of incredible quilted maple.
Ronnie Montrose was recently at Polarity Post Production Sound Studio in San Francisco CA where he used his Brock Acoustics Small Jumbo to record songs for his upcoming, “Ronnie Montrose Live at the Uptown!” DVD. Many of you know Ronnie as the legendary rock guitarist with his Platinum selling groups Montrose and Gamma, but what you may not know is that he is an accomplished and dedicated acoustic musician as well. I’ll post more info about his new DVD as it nears it’s release date!
